First Aid Course

Main Objective:

To impact knowledge, skills and attitudes of basic life support.

Specific objectives:

At the end of the course, the learner will be able to:

Understand concepts of first aid.

  • Describe the life saving skills.
  • Describe the emergency action plan.
  • Describe the contents of a first aid kit

Course Content:

Introduction, principles of first aid, basic life support, foreign body obstruction removal, bleeding, chain of survival, choking, trauma management, fainting, cardiac arrest, burns, drowning, poisoning and febrile convulsion.

Eligible Applicants and Number:

Not more than 20 participants School matrons, teachers, parents and caregivers, drivers and students in upper classes

The Fee covers:

Tuition, teaching and learning materials, venue, mid morning teas and coffee, lunch, afternoon tea and coffee, certificate

Mode of payment:

Money Transfer to Gertrude’s Institute’s Bank Account or by Institutional Cheque

Venue:

Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital, Muthaiga Road Muthaiga, Nairobi

Duration of the Course:

One (1) Day
