Annual Cancer Charity Walk

The Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital Annual Charity Cancer Walk is organized every year to raise funds to support early diagnosis and treatment for children from poor communities suffering from cancer across the country.

Funds raised from this event go towards covering the cost of treatment and care for these vulnerable children.

The 2nd edition of the cancer walk event will be held on Sunday 17th March 2024 at Uhuru Gardens in Nairobi with children, teens, and parents expected to attend from Nairobi and its environs. The event will feature exciting activities for kids, music, entertainment, medical screening, health checks, deworming and cancer screening.

While over 80% of cancer in children is treatable, only 1 out of 10 children are cured of cancer in Kenya. This is because many cancer cases in children are either not diagnosed or diagnosed too late to benefit from treatment.

Gertrude’s cancer diagnosis and treatment program is a partnership with the Ministry of Health and the County Governments aimed at improving early diagnosis, high quality cancer care, and improve cure rates among children with cancer.

There are various opportunities available for sponsorship of this event. Please email Olivia on cancerwalk@gerties.org  or call +254 705144316 to confirm your interest and preferred sponsorship.

Your support for this event will enable more children with cancer in Kenya to get diagnosed and treated.
