Vacancy Announcement – Radiologist (1)

The position holder would be responsible for executing/performing specialized radiology procedures and interpreting medical images such as X-rays, CT scans, ultrasounds, and MRIs for the purposes of treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Interpreting the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine diagnosis.
  2. Communicating and discussing results and diagnosis with physicians.
  3. Suggesting the most appropriate medical imaging modality or techniques, for proper diagnosis.
  4. Explain to patients the medical imaging procedures to be performed.
  5. Performing or directing radiology staff to carry out image-guided, diagnostic procedures.
  6. Working with radiographers to perfect image quality.
  7. Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergency situations, when necessary.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  1. MBCHB or MD from a recognized institution
  2. MMed (Radiology) from a recognized institution

Vacancy Announcement – Radiographer (1)

The overall purpose of this job is to carry out imaging and screening procedures and produce images for diagnostics and treatment purposes in line with established protocols and the Hospital’s patient care objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Using radiographic equipment, including surgical and portable equipment to do x-rays.
  2. Prioritizing patients to complete all scheduled appointments and allow for emergency procedures.
  3. Monitoring the radiographic equipment and supplies and ensuring there are sufficient supplies by submitting purchasing request proactively.
  4. Facilitating the reporting of the images by the radiologist and ensuring they are posted to the respective doctors.
  5. Handling phone calls from patients and Doctors to answer technical questions and offer pre-procedure guidance.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  1. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Radiography from a recognized institution.
  2. Must be registered with Society of Radiography Kenya (SORK) and hold a valid practicing license.
  3. Minimum of 2 years’ radiography experience preferably in a hospital environment

Key Responsibilities

  1. Providing theoretical and clinical instructions of students to ensure mastery of skills.
  2. Monitoring students’ performance to maintain instructional standards.
  3. Developing and reviewing curriculum in line with Nursing Council requirements.
  4. Conducting tests for (theory and practical) and evaluation of student’s assignment and performance
  5. Participating in quality programs, clinical audits and research.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BscN).
  2. Higher Diploma in either Perioperative Theatre nursing or Diploma in Perioperative Theatre Technology (TVET) is desirable and an added advantage.

Main Purpose of this Position

The Pathologist is responsible for performing all laboratory procedures required by clinicians or others for the management of patients and deals with testing for all patients both children and adults. The holder of this position will provide laboratory services as part of the multidisciplinary care process leading to desired patient care and service delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities of the Position

  • Analysis of laboratory and clinical data and evaluating results to provide accurate information for problem solving.

Clinical Pharmacist (1)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized pharmaceutical care and participate in multidisciplinary care plans for in-patients.
  • Develop and run the medication therapy management service.
  • Review medication therapy and carry out clinical pharmacy interventions for both inpatients and outpatients in liaison with the patient care team.
  • Conduct medication utilization reviews and engage in clinical and operational research.
  • Reporting, monitoring and analysis of medication use problems e.g., errors, adverse drug reactions and other quality and patient safety indicators
  • Carry out medication use counselling and adherence monitoring for high-risk patients and patients on chronic treatment.
  • Prepare & submit clinical and management reports
  • Participate in the development and support compliance to medication management and use policies
  • Undertake medication reconciliation during patient admission and discharge.
  • Participate and supervise staff in sterile compounding, chemotherapy reconstitution and extemporaneous preparations.

Therapies Manager

Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall operations of the relevant department. (Occupational/Physiotherapy/Nutrition/Psychology), and for reviewing, developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures necessary to achieve therapy services at the hospital. The job holder will also provide administrative oversight of the department.

Key Responsibilities 

  1. Responsible for the overall smooth running of the therapies unit including coordination of care delivery, scheduling of services, related inventory management, and integration with internal and external parties to achieve internal service standards and customer expectations.
  2. Participate in the development, review, or improvement of policies and procedures. Oversee the implementation of requisite policies and procedures in the section.
  3. Ensure that the therapy services meet internal and best practice quality and safety standards and coordinate the implementation of requisite actions to assure such quality and safety.
  4. Supervise therapies staff including their performance management, work scheduling, continuous professional development, and fostering a good work culture in the section.
  5. Participate in the therapies section annual planning including budgeting and responsible for the execution and achievement of the sections annual service, process, financial, learning, quality, and customer objectives.
  6. Facilitate effective and cordial relationship(s) between the various therapies sections and internal and external stakeholders. This will include participation in multidisciplinary teams.
  7. Responsible for effective documentation and reporting of the therapies unit activities and performance through the hospital structures, tools, and processes. Address and implement necessary corrective and improvement actions arising from such reports.

 

Qualifications & Skill Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Health Systems Management or related field from a recognized institution. (Diploma /Higher National Diploma in Occupational/Physiotherapy/Nutrition/Psychology) from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
  2. Two (2) years health care operations supervisory experience or three (3) years of progressive relevant experience with demonstrated success and leadership skills
